Being vulnerable is extremely difficult for me.
Maybe it’s the same for you.
This week I did something that scared me a lot.
With everything that’s going on in the world, there was something in my heart that I really needed to get out.
And so, I was vulnerable.
I’m a follower of Brené Brown, and I’ve read her books and watched her videos focused on shame and vulnerability and emotional exposure. I understand all of that … but when it actually came down to BEING vulnerable … that felt like a much bigger deal.
While my head could understand the importance of being vulnerable … it still felt like a very difficult step for me to take.
Perhaps you’ve been in a similar situation … where you understand the importance of doing something; however, finding the inner courage to take the next step feels very uncomfortable.
I took a deep breath … and I wrote the message I wanted to get out into the world.
I can tell you, it took a lot of courage to actually press the button and post my message online.
I didn’t know how people were going to react. I didn’t know how people would take in the information. To be honest, some of my closest friends didn’t even know this part of me existed.
But I put it out there into the world … and I held my breath.
What happened next was amazing.
I received love. I received support. Most importantly, I felt a deeper connection to so many people.
The reason why I’m sharing this with you, is to invite you to join the conversation.
To share your message in a bigger way with the world.
To overcome the fear of being judged or rejected.
It’s those fears that keep you silent.
You have important work to do, and you have an important message to share with the world.
So my invitation to you is to speak up, share your message, find the courage to make change, and inspire people.
Together, let’s increase our impact in the world.
